Language: The students are finishing their first personal narrative this week! They wrote about a time they felt happy. We've talked A LOT about the writing process, and they are expected to brainstorm, plan, write a rough draft, revise, edit, and publish! They are doing a great job so far! This narrative is due on Wednesday. We are beginning a new personal narrative (this one is a major grade), about a time you had fun with a pet (either yours or someone else's). We are really going to be looking at our prompt for clues about the writing process this week. | We are finishing up the fantasy story in our Journey's book, "Once Upon a Cool Motorcycle Dude" this week. Once we have totally put this story to bed, we are going to use picture books to practice our inference skills, along with working to identify the plot, setting, and important events of a story. Social Studies: We are learning about the various Native American Tribes that lived in the different regions of Texas. This week we are focusing on the Central and Great Plains and the Mountains and Basins Region. There will be an open book test over these concepts on Wednesday of this week. |
